Elena Soussi

Born in 1988, Elena Soussi began her musical training at the age of eight at Mansoque Conservatory (France). After pursuing her piano studies and graduating from Montpellier Conservatory, she joined Paul Coker’s class at the Geneva HEM and earned her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Pedagogy with the highest distinction (in the class of Fabrizio Chiovetta). She was also regularly provided guidance by the Bulgarian professor Roumiana Kirtcheva.

She currently teaches at the Conservatoire of Fribourg (Switzerland). While teaching has always been an integral part of her life as a musician, performing is a thread continuity for her creativity, inspiration.

In parallel, she devotes herself to chamber music, allowing her to perform regularly in Switzerland, France, Germany and Austria.

She is part of various ensembles with diverse aesthetics, combining rigor and sensitivity.

She is passionate about contemporary creation and transcription with Avès duo (accordion and piano).

The duo is at the origin of several commissions (Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber, Tobias Feierabend, Samir Amarouch, Nicolas Von Ritter, Gustavo Beytelmann) to enrich the repertoire of their duo.

The duo has been supported by the Fondation Nicati-de Luze, as well as by the Banque Cantonale Neuchâteloise and SACEM. This ensemble was also awarded a gold medal at the 4th Manhattan Music Competition in 2019.

Together with the soprano Mathilde Rogé, she forms the duo MaNa. They delve into the romantic repertoire of lieder and melodies, particularly focusing on the works of forgotten female composers. They have a show dedicated to Pauline Viardot with actress Julie Depardieu, and they have benefited from the advice of Helmut Deutsch, Anne le Bozec, and Jeff Cohen.

Co-director of the Association’s musical and pedagogic season Jeux d’Anches in the south of France, Elena Soussi divides her time between Switzerland and France.
