Valeriya Berestneva
Valeyria Berestneva was born in 1981 in Kaliningrad, Russia, where she started learning the piano at the age of 7. After her initial studies at music school, she entered the regional music conservatoire S. Rachmaninov. In 1999 she was accepted at the Academy of Music Gnessine in Moscow, where she also began to study lyrical classical singing.
In 2006, she was awarded the diploma of concert pianist, as well as piano accompanist and teacher by the Gnessine Academy.
An avid French speaker, in 2007, Valeyria, having completed six months of language studies at the French Cultural Centre in Moscow, decided to travel to France. In France she continued her vocal studies and, in 2010, began to teach the piano at the Conservatoire of Nancy.
A specialist in the accompaniment of solo vocalists, the accompaniment of various instruments, and chamber music, Valeyria performed in Russia, Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania while continuing to teach in France.
Valeyria arrived in Switzerland in 2012, where she has taught the piano in music schools across the canton of Fribourg, as well as organised and participated in concerts of chamber music.
As of 2017, she has held the positions of both piano teacher and accompanist at the Conservatoire of Fribourg, Switzerland.
